Chair's Foreword

I’m sure all of us have woken up one the wrong side of bed before, looked at the clock, and groaned at the discovery that we were going to be late for lecture. It just puts me in a bad mood the entire day, and reminds me again how important it is to start my day right. The best starts I’ve had were days were I woke up refreshed, smiling, with God’s song in my heart.

As you come for FOC this year, I pray that you’ll rediscover the importance of starting with God. Be it at the beginning of each day, in the making of decisions, or in the midst of exams. God is gracious in his promise – “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33) I truly believe that if we seek God first in knowing his boundless grace and love towards us, then all the other ancillary worries of the world will just fade away.

Last, a special word to the freshmen who will be/are contemplating joining us this year – VCF is a great way to start your schooling life. It provides a loving and supportive community that helps you navigate your way through the initial confusion of school. And you will also make lifelong friends to grow with in Christ. It is invaluable things like these that make me glad I’m part of VCF.

See y’all at camp!
