The VCF Vision

To make and build disciples of Jesus Christ who will be effective salt and light of the world on campus and in society.

Our Objectives

  • To ground CFers with the word of God that they may stand for God’s standards
  • To encourage one another to have a closer walk with God
  • To form a close-knit and united Christian Community
  • To reach out and care for our friends in Engineering in accordance with the life and good news of Jesus Christ

The challenges of university life are real. Heavy workloads, numerous assignments and projects, difficult engineering modules – these are but some of the things we constantly face. When these compete with God for our time, we may find ourselves slowly drifting away from Him. Or perhaps we question, as we see our peers hard at work, if the time we spend on Christian and VCF activities should be spent on our studies instead. Here at Engineering VCF, we acknowledge these issues, and remind/encourage one another to let God be the focus of our lives and to maintain a close relationship with Him. This does not mean that we neglect our studies. We are called to be good testimonies in campus, and that involves being a good steward of our studies. No doubt this is a daunting task, and we struggle along the way. But it is through the love and encouragement of fellow Christian students, that we may be good witnesses on campus.

To some, engineering faculty might seem to be a cold place. However, Engineering VCF seeks to bring together like-minded Christian students, in our hope that we may form a warm, close-knit and united Christian Community, understanding every individual’s struggles and supporting each other along the way.

We recognize that in engineering, with a diverse range of people from different backgrounds and religions, there are many among us who have not heard the Gospel. They may be our friends, course mates or someone whom we don’t know. Nevertheless, we realize the importance of reaching out to them. We want to share the love of God with them, just as we have experienced His love for ourselves. Therefore Engineering VCF organizes events and participates in corporate-wide events, in the hope that more people might come to know about the saving Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
