“To be a radical people changing the law fraternity for God's glory" is the vision of VCF Law in our quest to be lawyers who are different and unafraid to “stand out and speak up for Christ” in every situation
VCF Law pursues this vision through weekly contact group meetings*, monthly faculty gatherings** and an active social-outreach programme,*** all these in conjunction and support of other events held at a NUS-VCF wide level. ****
To all law students who are seeking a warm community of brothers and sisters (who understand your struggles you face in law school having gone through it ourselves) in our hope and prayer to be continuously transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit, VCF Law welcomes you! CGs:
Currently we have 3 CGs on Friday and 1 CG on Wednesday. They are held during the law-wide common frree period (i.e. there are supposed to be no classes during these two times periods)
Friday: 1-3pm (CGs: Jireh, Ra-ah & Shalom)
Wednesday: 1-3pm (CGs: Ches-ed)
Key:
* A book of the Bible would be discussed in CG meetings together with other topical and evangelistic studies. Prayer is also a central part of the CG. Each CG has a mixture of freshies to senior year students which is a unique feature of all VCF CGs.
** Faculty Gatherings are where the CGs of law gather for communal praise and worship as well as to listen to a speaker (often a law professor) on topics pertaining specifically to a law student (e.g. “What Would Jesus Do as a Law Student?” to more general Christian issues, (e.g. Set Apart: Col 3)
*** Our focus is on evangelism comes in the form of both social work (e.g. caring for the needy in society) and evangelistic faculty gatherings where a call would go out to consider Christ.
**** Together with the rest of the other VCF faculties and halls, we gather together for VCF camps, e.g our Annual Teach in Camp (AnnTIC), VCF FOC (Freshman Orientation Camp) and Fellowship Teaching, which would be FGs on a larger scale. We also help support VCF standing comms. Like Epsitole, the International Friendship Group etc.
