“Let us not be satisfied with just giving money. Money is not enough, money can be got, but they need your hearts to love them. So spread your love everywhere you go”. – Mother Theresa
“But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!” – Amos 5:24
Will caring for the poor become easier only when we graduate and start earning enough to give? Unfortunately for most, social outreach only becomes more challenging then…
The issue of cultivating a mindset for outreach with our finances requires deliberation and begins NOW! What would it be like for justice to truly “roll on like a river” and for righteousness to flow like a never-ending stream? Who are these people that we are exhorted to care for? Come, be challenged in making social outreach relevant and to nurture a mindset for ourselves that will keep us focused on God’s kingdom purposes as a student and after graduation.
